California Ignition Resistant Mix

California Ignition Resistant Mix
This mix is designed to reduce ignition risk in areas that are prone to wildfires. The species in this mix were selected from a list developed in 2025 by the CA Wildfire & Forest Resilience Task Force. This mix of plants was chosen for its high Live Fuel Moisture and minimal standing thatch/dead leaf litter. It is currently undergoing research and development with the US Forest Service. This mix is likely to reduce ignitability from sparks and embers. These plants are known to establish and persist in disturbed areas, compete with non-native annual species, and provide other benefits such as soil stabilization and pollinator habitat.
