S&S Seeds was founded in 1975 to help Southern Californians address the growing need for locally-sourced native seed. Over the last 50 years, we have perfected the art and science of collecting seeds from wildland areas. We deliver restoration-scale quantities of native seed while using ecologically-sensitive collection techniques approved by our conservation partners.
Our team of botanists travel hundreds of miles to hand collect seed from native species growing in their natural wildland habitats. We help our clients source the most locally-adapted, genetically appropriate native seed for their projects through custom wildland seed collections. We work directly with agencies and landowners to develop and carry out these wildland collection plans using best practices to protect ecologically-sensitive areas.
