Planting dates of April 1st through April 15 for haying or grazing is best times for planting of oats. Expect to start grazing oats about 45-60 days after planting depending on weather conditions. August 15th is a optimal time for planting of a fall oat crop and these may either be hay or grazed for fall forage needs. Begin grazing oats when they are approximately 5-6 inches tall and haying should be done in pre boot stage for premium forage.

Seeding Rate: 48-64 pounds (dryland) 64-100 pounds irrigated.

Estimated Yield 1.5-2.5 tons dry matter/ acre.
