New England Aster is native to most of the United States and can be found as an ornamental throughout the country. This late blooming perennial forb is an excellent nectar source for migrating butterflies, like the monarch.

Reaching 2-6 feet in height
Adapts to wide range of soil types
Seed in fall or spring
Cold stratification recommended if seeding in spring
