Mountain muhly
Muhlenbergia montana
Warm season, perennial bunchgrass with a fibrous root system. Found on many sites but generally in ponderosa pine and grassland habitats from 2,600-11,200 ft. elevation. Adapted to both dry and moist conditions but requires excellent drainage. Good palatability for livestock and wildlife while actively growing; palatability declines with maturity. Excellent seed producer.
