Celtis pallida

Semi-evergreen shrub with spiny branches, grows to 15 ft. tall. Often found on foothills and mesas in dense thickets. Wildlife is attracted to its small orange berry-like fruits, although the shrub itself is not palatable to livestock or wildlife. Adapted to medium to coarse soils. Can be used for erosion control.
