Sphaeralcea ambigua

Native shrubby perennial with brilliant orange-red flowers, blooming February to June. Common on rocky sands to alkaline clay soils in scrublands and grasslands across the deserts of the southwest to the Great Basin, often in large patches; up to 8,000 ft. elevation. Most drought tolerant of the globemallow species. Use in desert revegetation, roadsides and xeriscapes.
