Hesperis matronalis

This short lived perennial is found growing across the United States, except for a few states in the South. Dames Rocket is and escaped landscape plant that has naturalized over time. It prefers to grow in open forests, woodland edges and moist upland sites. Growing well in both sun and shade, it will grow to a height of 4 feet before blooming with bright purple or white flowers from May-June.  Prolific seed producer that will reseed itself.
