Developed specifically for turf quality, Bowie will have a medium green color, fine bladed texture, good turf density, and a low growth habit. Improved lateral growth results in quicker establishment, lower water usage and good winter hardiness. These desirable traits significantly reduce labor, irrigation, mowing and fertilization costs. Bowie Buffalograss surpasses today’s standards for a low maintenance turfgrass. Seed in late spring to early summer when soil temps are 50 degrees or above.
Seeding Rate: 2-3 lbs/1,000 sq ft on residential or golf courses, 1-2 lbs/1,000 sq ft on industrial sites, and 3-4 lbs /1,000 sq ft for soil stabilization.
