Bluejoint Reedgrass

Calamagrostis canadensis
Bluejoint Reedgrass (Calamagrostis canadensis) is a perennial grass native to Northern and Western US states (such as Alaska, Minnesota, Washington, and Maine) that can thrive in USDA Zones 2–6. Reaching a mature height of 3–5 feet with an upright, strongly rhizomatous sod-forming growth habit, it features rough, blue-green leaf blades and produces delicate, purplish-bronze seed panicles. It thrives in wet meadows, marshes, stream margins, and forested wetlands and is ideal for cold-climate wetland mitigation, stream bank stabilization, and waterfowl cover.
