Arizona Poppy (Kallstroemia grandiflora) is an annual forb native to Southwestern US states (such as Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas) that can thrive in USDA Zones 8–11 as a warm-season annual. Reaching a mature height of 1–2 feet with a trailing to ascending growth habit, it features pinnately compound green leaves and produces brilliant orange poppy-like flowers with red centers. It thrives in dry, sandy desert soils and roadsides following late-summer rains and is ideal for desert erosion control, roadside revegetation, and arid pollinator support.
