Analogue Sedge
Carex simulata
Analogue Sedge (Carex simulata) is a perennial forb native to Western US states (such as Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Utah) that can thrive in USDA Zones 3–7. Reaching a mature height of 1–2 feet with a sod-forming rhizomatous growth habit, it features fine, dark green, wire-like leaf blades and produces small, brownish terminal seed spikes. It thrives in wet mountain meadows, fens, and spring edges and is ideal for high-elevation wetland restoration, stream bank stabilization, and meadow sod enhancement.
